Kate is a sustainable graphic designer with a passion for volunteering and working with nonprofit organizations. Originally from the Midwest, Kate relocated to the PNW after earning her Bachelor of Art in Media Arts & Animation in 2004, making Portland, OR her home until 2024. Her dedication and commitment to social justice and sustainability inspired her to earn a Master of Arts in Sustainable Design in 2016, with the goal of continuing to fuel her creative nature while helping to make the world a better place. Bringing her own imagination to each project to which she contributes, Kate thrives in a creative environment with like-minded individuals who aim to give 110% every day. Her thesis work for her Masters was focused on designing the framework for a sustainable font targeted for older generations. Kate continues designing sustainable fonts, and plans to make them available at no cost to the general public once published. As she works towards earning her Project Management Certification, Kate is also the proud mama of an adorably fabulous little boy. When she’s not working, Kate enjoys exploring farmers markets and craft fairs, as she is always in support of local businesses, and her hunt for the world’s best breakfast burrito is never ending. She played soccer for 18 years, and although she no longer plays competitively, she thoroughly enjoys watching the best of the best. She is a lifelong learner, and continues to educate herself on all things typography and all things associated with teaching her son how he may one day contribute to making the world a better place for everyone.
